The major was only established in 1992, and for this reason, a separate lecture course on methodology of the Portuguese language was not initially introduced. For this purpose, since 1995, Radiana Drinova has been expanding her course on methodology of the Spanish language, including specific problems related to teaching Portuguese. The new course is called methodology of Ibero-Romance languages and is intended for first and second-year students. It continues to be taught with one interruption from 2006 to 2011, when a course on methodology of the Portuguese language was introduced, taught by Nadezhda Lilova. Since 2019, Assistant Professor Michal Pavlov has been appointed as the titular lecturer of the course on methodology of Ibero-Romance languages.
