Workshop and development of international cooperation between the Department of "Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching" and the Faculty of Education of the University of Tarnava, Slovakia

On the eve of the new academic year at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" within the framework of the Erasmus Plus program, the Dean of the Faculty of Education of the University of Tarnava, Slovakia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vera Peterkova, carried out a mobility at the Department of "Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching" of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology.

The Dean's mobility program included workshops with the Head of the Department, Prof. Magdalena Kostova-Panayotova, DSc, with representatives of the academic staff and the rector's administration, as well as with doctoral students. The purpose of these meetings was to assess the opportunities for further institutional cooperation, especially in the field of joint research activities.

The University of Tarnava was a partner of Sofia University in the project “MODERN-A: MODERNIZATION in Partnership through Digitalization of the Academic Ecosystem” in the creation of a joint master’s program: “Digital Competencies in Foreign Language Teaching”.

During the meetings, experience was exchanged on the implementation and implementation of “mobility windows”. In the meeting with doctoral students, focused on the potential applications of digital technologies in scientific research and in the preparation and writing of dissertations, special attention was paid to the use of artificial intelligence tools, their advantages, limitations and the principles of responsible and ethical use in an academic environment. The joint work between the Department of "Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching" at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures and the Faculty of Education of the University of Tarnava contributes to the exchange of professional pedagogical experience, the development of the competencies of scientists in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as the creation of concrete foundations for deepening cooperation between the two institutions in the field of scientific research, education and internationalization.
