I graduated from the Master's program "English Philology" at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in 2017. For me, this program was not just an upgrade of my knowledge, but an opportunity for professional and personal growth in a modern, interdisciplinary academic context.
As a foreign language teacher, I apply the acquired competencies in various educational situations on a daily basis. The program gave me a solid foundation in methodology, pedagogy, psychology and modern approaches to teaching, including working with digital technologies in the classroom. Particularly useful for me were the disciplines related to intercultural communication, media literacy and current pedagogical practice, which taught me how to cope effectively in a real educational environment.
Among the most valuable moments for me was the development of my diploma thesis on the topic "History of Foreign Language Teaching in My School". This research gave me the opportunity to trace the traditions and development of foreign language education in the institution where I work, to analyze the change in approaches and to evaluate the contribution of individual teachers and management. The collection of archival materials, interviews and documents not only enriched my knowledge, but also strengthened my sense of belonging and responsibility to the school community.
The content of the program was extremely up-to-date and in line with European standards in education. This gave me the opportunity to feel confident both when preparing lessons and when working on projects, innovations and educational initiatives outside the classroom. I greatly appreciate the fact that the training was aimed not only at theoretical knowledge, but also at its practical application.
With gratitude to the lecturers who provided high quality teaching, commitment and a modern perspective, I can confidently say that this master's degree played a key role in my professional realization. She not only prepared me to be a good teacher, but she inspired me to be an active participant in educational change.
