A few years ago, I graduated from the Bulgarian University of Applied Sciences and Arts "St. Kliment Ohridski" and became a primary school German teacher in a Sofia school. Teaching a foreign language to young students is fraught with many challenges. Children are curious and full of energy to learn. The teacher must be prepared and create a calm and motivating environment, to make German lessons interesting. The learning process is constantly evolving. This made me seek to upgrade my pedagogical training.
My natural choice was the master's program "Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching in an Intercultural Environment" at Sofia University. Teaching a foreign language is a complex process through which one begins, builds and achieves mastery of the language, and this is the ultimate goal of learning. Of course, it goes through different stages, but the most important thing is to ignite the spark in your students. Each knowledge of the specific tools - methods, approaches, principles, increases and expands the teacher's capabilities in his work. The training in the master's program showed me the system and scope of teaching a foreign language as part of the educational system. Education is not an end in itself. It is an important part of our lives and everyone should feel it this way. The role of a teacher also consists in building a relationship with their students, in arousing their curiosity, in showing them that they can.
As a graduate of the master's program in foreign language teaching methodology, I possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills that allow me to confidently and competently teach German in the modern educational environment.
